Assessment Centre Research Nurses - Stockport, Cheshire

Hays Healthcare has two exciting job opportunities for registered Nurses, to work on the latest phase of a vital research study called UK Biobank. The study is a large long-term study in the UK which is investigating the health and well-being of a large cross section of our society to understand environmental exposure to the development of diseases and other conditions

The nurses are required to conduct health data collections on invited participant volunteers in accordance with standard operating procedures. The nurse will conduct medical interviews and collect samples of blood and other fluids from the participants, in a single session. Biological measurements and various other tests and procedures will be carried out by other assessment centre staff, overseen by the nurses. You will direct and assist participants through their re-assessment centre visit and maintain general cleanliness/tidiness of the assessment centre as delegated by either the team leader or clinic manager and ensure the measurement station is correctly set-up and complete.

It is essential for this role to have proven venepuncture skills, excellent communication skills, and basic IT skills. You must be able to follow standard operating processes/procedures, present a professional image at all times. You will also need to be able to work as part of a small team integrated together to make the assessment a positive experience.

The assessment centre will be open 7 days a week from mid -March 2014 and the successful nurse candidates will be required to alternate three/four long days per week, with each other.
