Position Overview

The ABL Underwriter will be responsible for all aspects of the prospective transaction process, including underwriting to the risk associated with the credit, be primarily responsible for preparing the approval memoranda, negotiating legal documentation and ensuring that the transaction conforms to credit and regulatory approvals.

The Underwriter will be required to coordinate diligence requests with third parties and internal team members with the client to make sure the transaction closes within the agreed-to timeframe and within budget. Will be responsible for overseeing financial and collateral analysis, evaluating capacity, capitalization, corporate and legal structure of the prospect. During the underwriting process, the incumbent will be required to keep the Regional Underwriter Manager fully informed as to any credit risks uncovered and provide mitigates as appropriate. The Underwriter is responsible for the final written credit approval and the oral presentation to credit committee.

Qualifications

- Extensive commercial lending experience, including underwriting.

- Prior lending experience in a lead underwriter, loan closer, or relationship manager type of role in an Asset Based or Cash-Flow Lending servicing middle-market and/or large corporate borrowers.

- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications.

- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple transactions concurrently in a deal-driven environment with time pressure constraints.

- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and Word.

Preferred Skills

- Collateral audit experience.

- Financial modeling expertise.

- Proficient in Moodys Risk Analyst.

- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification preferred.
