THE DESIGN GROUP ENERGY DIVISION, in concert with our established client, is seeking a MANAGER OF ASSET INTEGRITY. This position is responsible for providing Crude Oil Operations with specialized asset integrity support and participating in an intensive campaign to improve asset integrity and ensure consistent application of professional and industry standards.   

 

This is a permanent position, based in downtown Calgary.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·         Responsible for all engineering activities and projects relating to the improvement or modification of Asset Integrity

·         Responsible for the selection, training and supervision of all engineering staff;

·         Responsible for leading asset integrity activities for Crude Oil Operations assets and programs;

·         Coordinate Project Engineers responsible for pipeline in-line inspections and pipeline repairs;

·         Manage analysis of in-line inspection data to determine repairs and project corrosion growth;

·         Oversee the assessing, monitoring and mitigation of other pipeline defects such as dents and stress corrosion cracks;

·         Assess effectiveness of external and internal corrosion monitoring and mitigation programs;

·         Coordinate the inspection and repair/replacement of watercourse crossings;

·         Manage API 653 in-service and out-of-service inspection and repair of aboveground storage tanks;

·         Coordinate integrity testing and replacement of underground storage tanks;

·         Coordinate integrity assessment of pressure equipment and any subsequent follow-ups;

·         Coordinate other integrity-related activities such as class location assessments, valve optimization studies, and SmartBall leak detection inspections;

·         Manage the development and implementation of GIS and risk assessment applications;

·         Support/advise other departments on integrity matters;

·         Participate in acquisition due diligence and annual budget processes;

·         Develop and maintain status reporting including volumes and costs relative to plan as well as maintenance scheduling and reporting and tank inspection reporting;

·         Ensure project execution is consistent and on track;

·         Provide high level Project Management and expertise;

·         Input into Asset Integrity long term strategic planning;

·         Assess pipeline crossing requests;

·         Develop and implement station piping and other non-piggable line programs.

 

Qualifications:

·         Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Corrosion or Chemical);

·         Detailed practical knowledge of material selection, deterioration mechanisms, NDT techniques, Cathodic Protection, failure analysis, including corrective action;

·         Knowledge of, and experience in, development and implementation of risk based inspection programs;

·         Experience in use of specialized software, asset management tools, and inspection data management systems;

·         Project engineering experience for small to mid size programs is desired ($25 MM 50 MM);
