Asset Management Advisor recruitment
The Global Client Group serves institutional and retail clients, including corporate, public, union and industry pension plans; insurance companies; third-party mutual funds; endowments; foundations; charities; corporations; official institutions; banks; and individuals worldwide.
Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients' investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
Drive for Achievement:
- Generate results and focus on increasing and retaining the firm's assets.
- Work persistently towards mutually agreeable sales and activity goals.
- Demonstrate dedication to the company and colleagues' success and contribute to the group.
- Adapt to change readily by trying new selling approaches, styles and new material in his/her territory.
Technical Expertise:
- Exhibit in-depth knowledge on all funds and products, and have a high level of comfort in communicating this information to Financial Advisors and investors.
- Position and differentiate BLACKROCK and our products against competitor firms and their products.
- Converse knowledgeable with managers, top producers, and other key personnel in offices about the economy and portfolio management.
- Communicate effectively in one-on-one and group presentations in a manner that clearly distinguishes him/himself from the competition.
Manage Relationships:
- Develop and maintain working relationships with 150 Financial Advisors.
- Create and maintain working relationships with Market Managers, coordinators, FA's, and other key "gate keepers" to maintain access to FA's.
- Promote team spirit and be open and helpful in working/training with other BlackRock employees.
Communicates Effectively:
- Listen to the needs of the FA and shareholder and respond to those needs with clear, concise answers that are understandable.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Resource Management:
- Utilize assistance and coordinate with sales desk to augment efforts in the field.
- Read and interpret sales reports and other database information to dissect territory and enhance penetration levels.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS required and extensive experience in the financial services industry; including mutual fund or managed money experience.
- Solid understanding of the financial services and asset management industry.
- Exceptional sales and oral communication skills are essential for this role. Successful candidates will be strong presenters and able to deliver presentations in high-profile meetings.
- The individual will have the ability to adapt easily to changing situations and will effectively operate in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain valuable relationships.
- CFA/CIMA certification is a plus.
