Department Description
The new vacancy is within the Asset Management Technology Equity group in EMEA.
The role is based in London where the business is located, and reports to the Equity Chief Business Technologist in EMEA.

The Equity Technology team in London supports 200 EMEA Equity Portfolio Managers, Traders and Compliance and Risk users, mostly based in London, using a series of in-house and packaged applications.
The Equity business has been rapidly expanding in volumes and complexity with the rapid growth of derivatives and multi-asset products.
The technology team has been defining a target application strategy to support the business and, as part of this strategy, continues to invest heavily in our technology solutions.
Due to an internal transfer, a role is becoming available to lead the Equity Portfolio Management and Compliance Technology stream of work.

Key Responsibilities:
The Product Owner is overall responsible for technology delivery to the business, i.e. all EMEA Equity Portfolio Managers, Risk and Compliance users.Represent the business within TechnologyUnderstand and document business requirements, define epics and user stories; maintain a prioritized product backlogOwner of the overall Business Architecture.
Define the strategic direction of the application architecture.Drive the release planning process to maximize time / value delivery to the businessFor larger or complex projects plan resources, coordinate activities, manage risks and issues, report statusResponsible for the quality and punctuality of the technology deliveries and production stabilityDrive the 3 to5 year strategic direction of Equity PM and Compliance TechnologyPro-actively manage the IT Risk and Resiliency agendaManage ongoing budget and resources plan for functional areaLine role management of team members (businesss analysts and developers) within functional areaContribute to/ lead, continuous improvement initiative, especially related to business analysis, testing and agile methodology.
Seek to implement improved tools and processes.Oversee the definition of technical solutions to confirm that they meet business requirements, and that they comply with the Technology architecture principles in order to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.

Competencies
Essential:3 years experience in the financial services10 years experience in Technologyindustry, ideally investment management and ideally within
Front Office TechnologyVery good understanding of front office business processes (portfolio management, compliance, trading)Strong functional understanding of equities and equity derivatives; appreciation of equity and derivatives data requirementsPrior experience as a lead Business Architect, Product Owner or Project Manager on large scale projects.
Track record of successful project delivery gained at either a top consultancy firm or a leading investment bank / asset manager.Proven ability to define or influence Technology strategy.Extensive experience of working on agile or scrum projects and leading the implementation of agile processes.Previous experience of UML and structured analysis toolsets, as well as testing processes and tools such as Mercury's Quality Center.Technical fluency in various technologies and architectures; able to critic, and provide input in, technical architecture/design documentsPrior line-management experience.
