Asset Management – Head of Marketing recruitment

Our client is leading international asset management business managing investments for private clients, charities and a wide range of institutional investors.

The business manages over £11 billion for these clients and with a committed team of investment professionals always looking for innovative investment solutions, they aim to provide a combination of successful investment performance and a very high level of service.

Based in the City of London, the major shareholders are its local management team, which is committed to maintaining its reputation as a distinctive and active manager in the institutional market place.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting into the Partner overseeing the marketing function and managing a team of 6, this is a highly strategic role and will form part of the team responsible for planning, developing and articulating the company’s long-term branding, marketing vision and allied marketing strategy.

This will include the marketing strategy around all their major events schedule including, PR, advertising, e-marketing and RFP strategies to ensure a proper level of co-ordination across all our four main marketing areas to achieve maximum penetration and cross-selling to enable the firm to achieve its annual new business development targets.

On top of this you will be required to develop a consistent and vigorous PR and Advertising strategy to deliver on the above (including market insight, proposition development and communications execution to include advertising, events, digital print and graphics).

There will also be a requirement to propose, develop, plan and articulate a long-term digital and social media strategy for the firm, and work very closely with department heads to devise, refine and own a marketing strategy that is consistent with the firm’s overall strategy.

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal profile would have an extensive knowledge of the institutional market place and also of products marketing. Some knowledge of other streams such as private client, charities and retail would be an advantage.

A strong background of Public Relations, advertising and e-marketing planning and implementation will be essential essential, as will experience of delivering effective marketing strategy from conception through to delivery.

A good working knowledge of regulatory requirements and restrictions gained from several years’ experience within the financial services industry will be needed, and although asset management experience would be preferable it is not a pre-requisite.

It goes without saying that the successful applicant will be persuasive, with excellent written / oral communication skills and have the ability to liaise effectively with management and staff at all levels.

A strong academic background (including the CIM qualification) will also be a requirement.
