Job Description:
The Product Solutions Group is the investment engine of the Wealth Management Unit of Deutsche Bank Asset and Wealth Management, focusing on selecting product and fund investments for institutional investors and wealthy families.
The candidate will be responsible for handling all operational risk and investment due diligence on ETFs for the US and Global approved lists Deutsche Bank. This includes structural due diligence, operational due diligence, quality control, review of the investment and portfolio management processes of the providers and quantitative screenings and analysis of ETFs (tracking errors, liquidity, exchange trade volumes, costs, assets under management etc). The candidate will be supporting the Research and Selection efforts across all main investment strategies and asset classes, including alternative type products such as volatility strategies, gold ETFs, etc. The candidate will become the main point of contact for ETF coverage.
Key responsibilities
The candidate’s primary areas of responsibility are fourfold.
- She/He will be make sure that the Product Solutions Group team’s due diligence on ETFs has been carried out properly as per the DB research policies, to identify critical factors, investment risks and mitigants on the products selected.
- She/He will take ownership for all the operational and structural due diligence aspects of ETF research
- She/He will be responsible for creating and maintaining the necessary quantitative tools to screen ETFs, liaising directly with providers to obtain information, documenting and preparing investment and due diligence reports and liaising with other teams and Control and Support Functions to get these approved on the various bank booking centers.
- As an ETF product specialist, She/He will be working with the investment generalists and the Delivery teams to support in any type of queries related to ETFs. For example the candidate will be expected to monitor the asset management space for investment ideas that can be populated by ETFs to help trading advisors
- She/He will be responsible for maintaining and updating the repository of approved fund ETFs (approved fund lists) and ensuring research analysts have documented and filed as required by procedures all due diligence documentation.
- She/He will be expected to keep abreast with regulatory requirements related to ETF regulations and act as the first port of call for such matters for the team
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (Finance or Business preferred)
The candidate should have minimum 5 - 7 years of working experience in financial markets (Investment Banking, Asset Management, Wealth Management) of which at least 3 years of direct experience in a research / analyst role
The candidate should be able to work independently as well as manage and assist junior resources in their work.
The candidate should demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and a positive can-do attitude.
Strong academic record and commercial acumen is expected. Professional accreditations such as CFA, FRM, CAIA preferred.
Good presentation skills with the ability to deliver clear, meaningful well-structured presentations
Excellent Fluency in English is required – other languages a plus
