Assistant Accountant
The Position
Our client is a boutique financial services firm headquartered in London, with offices spread throughout Europe. The company provides accounting and back-office services to a portfolio of investment funds, held by financial institutions in the UK and further afield. Due to continued growth, the firm now has an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the accounting team in London. This role involves:
- Preparation of sales invoices and distribution to clients.
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reporting (for clients’ funds) and annual statutory accounts.
- Provide cover support for the firm’s cash administration service (for example, moving a client’s funds, say £50m from one client account to another)
Your Profile
The client is looking to meet with candidates with a strong track record of academic achievement, holding a numerate degree, who have recently started their accounting qualification, or are part-way through it. The client is open to meeting with candidates currently working for a small-medium sized practice firm, looking for a move into financial services sector. Likewise, the client will consider those working in the financial services space perhaps as an Accounts Assistant, looking for their next move. The client will expect you to have 2-3 years relevant experience, having prepared accounts to TB stage, or perhaps to 1st review stage. Strong interpersonal skills are a must as you will be liaising with senior management on a regular basis. Any knowledge of IFRS, such as IFRS 10 or IFRS 12 would be useful, but not essential. The client provides full study support for those in the team who are studying for their accounting qualifications.
