ABOUT THE ROLE

The Group Financial Controller is looking for an assistant accountant to help centralize and establish a strong, efficient accounts department that can provide timely and reliable financial data to the wider business.

The role requires implementing and refining processes to ensure the accounts department runs efficiently and effectively. Specifically that the accounts are up-to-date at all times minimizing the time required for month-end and management accounts production.

The role will involve some supervision and management of an accounts junior.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance and production of accounts to trial balance for all group companies.

SAGE posting.

Maintaining the purchase ledger and managing supplier payments.

Daily Bank reconciliations.

Liaising with off-site credit-control function.

Maintenance of WIP schedule.

Assisting with cash-flow forecasting.

Payroll.

Month-end procedures and postings.

Monthly reconciliations.

Various routine reporting.

Responsibility for certain financial processes.

Implementing new and refining established processes.

Supervision, review and management of accounts junior.

Assisting FC and company accountant when necessary.

Implementing company processes into new acquisitions.

Assisting in the forecasting process.

Company secretarial duties.

Other ad hoc duties as necessary.

 

KEY KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

Qualified or part qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA

Demonstrable experience of a similar role
