Position: Assistant Brand Manager Division: Marketing
Reports to: VP Global Marketing Location: St. Petersburg, FL
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting into the VP Global Marketing, the Assistant Brand Manager will be responsible for assisting in the management of all Pellon product lines. The candidate will contribute to developing long and short-term strategies, marketing plans, new products, packaging, advertising and sales promotion programs that will help achieve profit objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to successfully multi-task
· Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills
· Proven knowledge/understanding of syndicated data: Nielsen, Panel, Spectra, Brand UAs.
· Experience managing all forms of communication including but not limited to print, packaging and online communications
· Assist in the development and execution of marketing/launch plans for specific product lines
· Experienced user of Walmart Retail Link and Joanne’s Portal
· Must be able to demonstrate ability to independently conduct in-depth data analysis and use the data to develop strong, persuasive selling stories.
· Assist in the development of annual marketing plans and product positioning strategies
· Experienced user of Microsoft Office
· Proficient and well versed in Social Media
· Knowledge of Consumer packaged goods industry
· Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus
· Sewing and Quilting knowledge a big plus
· 4-year college degree, MBA a plus
· 2+ years’ experience in Textiles, Apparel or Fashion highly desired
· 2+ years Sales, Marketing, Consumer Promotions or Advertising.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
§ Manage all day-to-day marketing activities associated with product line
§ Assist in the development of annual marketing plans and executional tactics of the strategy
§ Assist in the development of website design and content changes
§ Execute all aspects of new product packaging including but not limited to establishing a budget, production schedule, editing and proofing as well as managing multiple vendors during the process
§ Work with VP Global Marketing to formulate recommendations in support of new product introductions as well as shelf set recommendations of existing and new products
§ Develop and maintain a 12 month forecast at the SKU level and help drive the forecast process with our consumption based accounts, i.e. Walmart Joanne’s and shipment based accounts
§ Assist in the development and execution of marketing/launch plans for specific product lines
§ Develop tradeshow displays, needed inventory and coordinate shipping to show locations
§ Review account trends with sales team on a monthly basis in order gain alignment on business priorities
§ Assist in the development of building consumer panel to test communication, new products, packaging and planograms.
§ Use syndicated and/or retailer specific data to prepare and present designated customers with information and recommendations in support of key retail sales initiatives (such as Retailer performance, trends opportunities, category space expansion opportunities, etc.)
§ Support the development of retailer presentations, business reviews, new item presentations and other customer meetings
§ Responsible for creation and distribution of monthly sales reports.
§ Willingness to travel which will involve some weekends.
