Assistant Capability Manager & Order Generator recruitment
This role primarily involves providing support to the Global Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific Equities capability managers and investment team: assisting in the production (including sourcing data) and updates to the various communication materials for internal and external uses. This role includes the update and collation of statistical data and research information from various sources and systems and, documenting/communicating the same in written format.
The other part of the role is to assist the Asian Equity order generation team in calculating and generating buy/sell orders for Asian equity portfolios. The person in this role will primarily act as substitute and back-up whenever one of the current order generators is out of office.
In addition, some general support and administrative tasks may also be required.
The role is primarily not a client facing one.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Capability Management
- Assist in the production of periodic investor communication reports, including gathering data from available third party sources on economic and market issues
- Assist in gathering of data on portfolios (performance, turnover, trades etc.) and conducting basic attribution analysis using existing systems such as Factset
- Assisting in the management and update of presentation materials (portfolio reviews, new business presentations) including presentation approval process
- Assisting in the preparation and sourcing of data for slides for reporting
- Downloading information from various internal and external systems, such as GCS, GERS, GEVS, Summit, GERS, Factset and Bloomberg.
- Support to RFP team on provision of data and information
- Organise meeting materials
- Preparation for monthly and quarterly written reports as required
- Carrying out any other general tasks required for the team
Order Generation
- As part of OG team based in Singapore, assist in the generation of trades for portfolios managed by the Asian equity team.
- This will include:
- Checking investment restrictions
- Rebalancing portfolios in accordance with models
- Daily maintenance of portfolios including fund rebalancing and associated order generation
- Pre-trade investment restriction checking at stock and individual account level
- Fast and effective implementation of strategy and the monitoring of implementation quality
- Consistent risk and limits monitoring across all Singapore managed accounts
Our ideal candidates should have the following requisites:
- Very good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Very good quantitative skills and ability to interpret financial data
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work with different systems like Factset, Bloomberg and willingness to learn
- Pro-active and positive attitude to work in a team environment with tight daily deadlines
- Good communication skills, in particular writing and editing
- Focus on needs of internal and external clients
- Flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness to variable workload, able to work effectively to tight deadlines
- Organisational and administrative skills
- Requires some understanding of portfolio management practices and a willingness to learn
- Some knowledge of and interest in investments
- Experience in in-house systems such as GERS, GEVS and GCS beneficial
- University education
