Assistant Construction Camp Manager

 

A U.S. General Contractor engaged in the construction of large commercial projects has an immediate opportunity available for an Assistant Construction Camp Manager to assist in the setup of a 100+ person US worker camp overseas.  Once the camp is set up the position will then follow through with assisting in the overall management of the camp at this overseas location.  The successful candidate will be required to complete a security background investigation.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Assist in the choice of a suitable local camp management company capable of providing all required services, such as catering, housekeeping, maintenance and operation of all life support facilities for up to 150 US employees.

·         Assist in managing the camp maintenance company in day-to-day camp matters, such as maintenance, housekeeping, and safety.

·         Assist in supervising the service personnel within the maintenance, cleaning, catering, laundry, security, and safety functions.

·         Ensuring sufficient stock levels of camp supplies are maintained.

·         Coordinating transportation operations, such as minibus trips.

·         Performing immediate first aid and informing physician in emergency situations.

 

Qualifications include:

·         Willingness and ability to relocate for an overseas project of up to 36 months.

·         Experience managing a large overseas camp; five or more years’ experience is desired.

·         Prior government construction experience.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

·         A proactive, organized approach to management with focus on safety and security.

·         Computer literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
