Assistant Controller - CPA: Dynamic, Global Services Firm

As the right hand to the Divisional Controller, the Assistant Controller will have overall responsibility for the division’s accounting functions and will develop, manage and mentor the divisional accounting team. The Assistant Controller will also prepare the budget, forecasts and expense analyses to effectively manage the department’s budget and to ensure appropriate resources have been allocated and department objectives are met; ensure the integrity of department deliverables to corporate and divisional leadership; develop and maintain a strong working relationships with Corporate and Divisional staff to ensure the success of cross-functional initiatives and quality of information; provide support in the achievement of the division's operational and strategic objectives; and lead process and system improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA – REQUIRED. Master’s degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive Big 4 public accounting experience with a demonstrated track record as a top performer. Exposure to financial services and/or insurance clients desired. May also consider public/private candidates that have completed a degree from a top ranked academic institution.
- Deep technical knowledge of accounting concepts and principles.
- Demonstrated success as a manager and mentor of a top producing staff.
- Proven leader and business partner with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, process improvement, presentation, relationship building and communication skills.
