Piada Italian Street Food has an opening for an Assistant Controller at our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for a number of accounting and finance assignments and will be expected to fully engage in assisting restaurant management in meeting financial objectives. We are seeking a skilled, financial professional who has experience in the restaurant industry, understands and has the ability to integrate finance and operations. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Controller is responsible for the following:
- Month-End Close Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Month-end closing responsibilities including reconciling accounts, reporting and analyzing variances to budget and forecast, and generating closing entries and reports
- Inventory control and reconciliation, including reviewing or auditing the adherence to cycle count procedures, participating in the annual physical inventory and reconciling inventory transactions.
- Balance sheet account control and reconciliation to supporting documentation.
- Budget Preparation, Forecasts, Reporting Financial Analysis
- Assist in developing the annual budget, including creating standard costs and updating QuickBooks with new standards budget period expenses
- Assist in developing monthly full year forecasts and analyzing variances to budget
- Prepare restaurant reports on key performance indicators
- Report consolidated operating results and provide analysis to the corporate controller
- Analyze changes in product offerings to determine cost impact
- Internal Controls Compliance
- Assist with financial and operational audits and address any audit findings with the corporate controller; participate with compliance certifications and reconciliations as required
- Respond quickly and accurately to guest requests, including special projects and other duties or analysis as requested by corporate leadership; research and resolve day-to-day issues related to general ledger accounts
- Train and assist corporate personnel on the proper reporting of production activities
- Serve as back-up for others on the corporate finance accounting team
QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Two to five years of accounting/finance experience in a restaurant environment or in public accounting, including experience in standard costing, cost accounting, inventory control, monthly closing and reporting/analysis
- Support the corporate controller in implementing financial process enhancements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organization
- Strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact comfortably and respectfully with all levels of restaurant level and corporate personnel.
- Proven ability to successfully manage and resolve conflict
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- CMA, CPA or other professional certification preferred
- Proficiency with QuickBooks preferred
