REPORTS TO: Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
DEPARTMENT: Controller's Office
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Assistant to Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.
' Leads framework for proactively identifying and staying ahead of upcoming changes to reporting regulations and requirements.
' Supports the technical accounting function responsible for monitoring, researching, ensuring compliance with and making recommendations regarding new accounting and reporting requirements from the FASB, EITF, SEC, PCAOB, and other regulatory agencies.
' Researches, monitors and ensures compliance with US GAAP accounting standards.
' Makes recommendations to modify accounting policies in support of such research and recommendations surrounding new accounting and reporting requirements.
' Serves as liaison between Corporate Finance and plant and product line finance personnel; prepares and distributes communications, resource materials and training to plant and product line finance personnel to ensure they are continuously advised of changes in accounting and reporting policies, procedures and requirements in a timely manner.
' Manages and maintains the Accounting Conclusion Database in coordination with other personnel from the Controllers' office.
' Supports the Director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting to ensure all compliance requirements and reporting deadlines are met with regard to periodic and annual reports.
' Provides support to the Company's external auditors in coordination with Director, Corporate Accounting and Reporting.
' Liaises with Controller's Office staff to support the above efforts.
' Liaises with Corporate Tax organization.
' Other special projects as assigned by the Controller (for example, specific accounts reconciliation/overview).
NOTE: This level of this position could vary between a Manager and Senior Manager, depending on background and qualifications.
Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA required. MBA preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years experience with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, with a strong preference for a minimum of 4 years experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
REQUIREMENTS:
' Advanced level of knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting principles to successfully fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the job description, including U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and Internal Controls.
' Excellent working knowledge of financial accounting systems and databases.
' Excellent communication (verbal and written) in the English language required, with the ability to communicate with and present to all levels in the organization; exceptional interpersonal skills.
' Strong project leadership skills.
' Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
' Ability to analyze problems, exercise judgement, make sound objective decisions, and implement solutions at both a strategic and functional level.
