Assistant Director, Graduate Admission Job in New York 10003, New York US

Reporting to the Senior Director of Graduate Admission and the Director of Graduate Admission for the New School of Public Engagement, the Assistant Director will manage the day-to-day communication activities for the graduate programs as well represent The Office of Graduate Admission and The New School graduate programs in a full range of recruitment activities, interviews, special events and related tasks on and off campus.

 

Specifically:

 

• Represents the New School in a full range of recruitment and admission activities and special events both on and off campus

• Coordinates the processing, scheduling, and review of applications, in a timely manner, for graduate programs

• Serves as liaison to graduate faculty regarding application review, recruitment and outreach activities; Team lead for Media Studies, Media Management and Documentary Studies graduate programs.

• Interviews and counsels students on admission requirement and provides basic financial aid and scholarship information to prospective student and families

• Oversees admission information technology related to prospect management, report generation and communication planning.

• Manages inquire pool to include both print and electronic communication plans

• Coordinates graduate recruitment and outreach services including recruitment schedules, e-mail, telephone and web-based activities

• Manages web content updates and changes for the Graduate Programs ensuring consistency and accuracy across all sites.

• Serves as liaison for graduate admission to the Director of Communication for Admission with respect to recruitment, marketing and outreach communication strategies and activities

• Coordinates recruitment, marketing and yield events including on- and off-campus information sessions, annual graduate programs expo, online chats and webinars, and admitted students programming.

• Works with university alumni office to incorporate alumni in admission events.

• Works with the Senior Director and Director of Graduate Admission to analyze enrollment trends and projections, design and implement recruitment strategies, and conduct relevant planning initiatives for recruitment and outreach

• Duties and projects as assigned by the Senior Director and Director of Graduate Admission

 

Requirements:

 

• Bachelor's degree required

• 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions

• Demonstrated computer knowledge/skills such as MS Office

• Good organizational skills

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Strong professional, interpersonal and presentation skills

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to travel

• Saturday and evening hours are required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Master's degree preferred
