Assistant Director

AJC Colorado leads coalitions with diverse faith and ethnic partners to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, greater understanding and support for Israel and other matters of shared concern. It maintains the agency’s national presence; attracts and builds relationships with AJC lay leaders and donors; engages with key local, state, national and diplomatic decision-makers and stakeholders; implements advocacy initiatives; establishes and nurtures a wide variety of community relationships; and serves as AJC’s “eyes and ears” on the ground.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement community programs; manage all program logistics
- Engage with our faith and ethnic partners in ongoing dialogues and coalition work
- Advocate with diplomats/public officials in support of Israel, immigration reform and other causes
- Assist in building meaningful relationships with prospective donors and fundraising
- Engage board members in our substantive work
- Increase community awareness and support for AJC through new media communication means
- Provide support for other office activities and initiatives, including fundraising events
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years related or relevant work experience
- Good knowledge of and relationships within the Denver/Boulder community and/or previous association with AJC is preferred.
- Passion for AJC’s mission (Jewish advocacy and human rights)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to create and lead coalitions
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a small regional office setting
- Eager to tackle new initiatives, be creative and “think outside the box”
The salary for this position is $50,000.
