POSITION OVERVIEW

"Outstanding Opportunity for Assistant

Director of Nursing”

This position is responsible for development, management and strategic

growth of Rehabilitation Nursing that focuses on the provision of high-quality,

 cost effective care for the patient with a disability or chronic illness. The

 Subacute Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for evaluating

 the quality and appropriateness of care, the effectiveness and efficiency

of systems within the rehabilitation setting, and instituting practice changes

 based on evaluation, and supporting interdisciplinary performance efforts

within the continuum of care. The Subacute Assistant Director of Nursing

promotes institutional and professional rehabilitation nursing and rehabilitation

 values, goals, and objectives among nursing staff and interdisciplinary team

members.  This role is responsible for providing supportive care to patients by

assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care. The Subacute

Assistant Director of Nursing allocates available resources for the efficient

 delivery of rehabilitation care and participates in executive decision

 making related to departmental functions for the Nursing services provided on

the subacute unit 24 hours/day. This person will be a strategic partner in

driving the financial performance in collaboration with the entire

 interdisciplinary leadership team.

 

SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Maintains a current NY State Professional RN License

BSN required or BSN fulfilled within two (2) years of hire into position

Master’s desirable

CPR certified.

ACLS certification preferred

PRI certification preferred

Must obtain certificate in Rehabilitation Nursing

within two (2) years of hire into position

 

EXPERIENCE

Leadership/Management Experience required

Current experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing

Previous Long Term Care experience desirable
