Assistant Director – Risk Management recruitment

Responsibilities
The Moodys Analytics Risk Management Services Group (RMS) seeks an exceptional and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Engagement Manager for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). RMS EMEA works with financial institutions seeking to more effectively measure, manage and control their exposure to credit risk. We are a boutique consultancy with a unique ability to access a wealth of credit-related research, data and tools to solve complex credit risk challenges for our clients. RMS services include benchmarking of risk management systems, design and development of risk scoring models, credit process re-engineering, model validation and calibration, regulatory mandate planning, knowledge transfer, custom financial analytics, capital allocation advisory, and financial valuation.
As an Engagement Manager will lead a number of individual consulting projects at any one time, manage and mentor consultants that work with her/him on these projects and interact with clients on behalf of RMS.

-Supporting RMS project teams and leading project workstreams. This will involve helping the junior team of consultants understand their individual responsibilities to the project. This will also involve delegating tasks, providing technical coaching and guidance, setting expectations for quality, managing and resolving issues or conflicts, and providing general direction and mentorship to the project team.
-Assuming ownership of project completion. This will require developing project plans, determining staffing needs, managing the day-to-day project schedule, scoping and reviewing deliverables, leading status meetings, managing the project budget, and communicating status and results to the EMEA Practice Leader.
-Arranging post-project support.  This may involve creating proposals for follow-up projects or ensuring proper hand-off of client relationships to other teams within Moody's Analytics. 
- Supporting business development efforts and working as a member of the pre-sale team. This will specifically entail supporting meetings with prospective clients to provide expertise and recommend solutions in real-time as part of determining client requirements and project scope. It will also involve participating in pitch presentations and proposal writing..
-Managing relationships with clients. Ensuring client satisfaction with the project and positioning RMS for follow-up engagements. This includes managing expectations and managing communications with clients. This will also entail representing RMS during discussions with senior client staff and also during presentations, meetings, and teleconferences.
-Conducting technical design and knowledge transfer workshops. This will specifically entail leading sessions with clients where the purpose of the session is to define the framework and specifications for a financial model, especially a risk quantification model. It will also entail facilitating workshops where experts from RMS share knowledge and experience with clients risk management professionals.
-Coordinating activities with other groups within Moody's Corporation. This will require liaising with other product and service delivery groups such as the Training Services Group, the Implementation Services Group, and the Credit Strategies Group. It will also require interaction with the operations, sales, finance, legal, and strategy teams.
-Developing intellectual capital and participating in research efforts. This will involve identifying topics of interest to risk practitioners, providing ideas and input, harvesting ideas from prior projects, conducting primary and secondary research, writing white papers and presentations, and contributing to the overall Moody's research agenda.

Experience
-Strong relevant professional experience, including substantial experience at a top-tier consulting firm
-Familiarity with modern credit risk management and the requirements of Basel II, III CEBS and Solvency II guidelines.
-Track record of successful project management, preferably within a commercial banking or capital markets environment
-Experience in managing team members.
-Experience scoping, pricing and planning complex multidisciplinary projects
-Experience leading meetings, training sessions, presentations an/or workshops
-Experience writing professional services proposals and supporting business development activities
-Minimum MA or MS degree; PhD or MBA a plus
-Strong analytical and quantitative skills
-General understanding of statistics, finance, structured finance valuation and/or empirical modelling techniques required for the quantitative role.
-Knowledge of SAS helpful. Matlab, S-Plus skills a plus. Knowledge of Access, Excel and PowerPoint required for the quantitative role.
-Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS and accounting principles desired
-Must be flexible with travel, with the potential for international travel
-Good written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships -  at all levels
-Experienced in mentoring and supporting other member of the team
-Able to give constructive feedback and assist team members with development and learning
