Assistant Finance Manager/ Finance Manager recruitment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and coordinate the quarterly financial close and reporting process for US GAAP which involves understanding and adjusting IFRS to produce US GAAP results

Lead and coordinate the daily and monthly business reporting function which involves working closely with staff in other business units

Takes initiative to enhance and improve reporting by writing executive summaries and fielding queries from CFO’s and GM’s

Transaction support on various strategic initiatives

Work with business units to resolve accounting issues

Take an active role in various other ad-hoc MIS and financial reporting related projects

Ensure regular business unit training needs are met while participating in the development and delivery of training sessions

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified member of a professional accounting body or working towards an accounting designation (i.e. CA, ACCA, HKICPA or CPA)

Knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP

Minimum of 6 years relevant experience for Manager, 3 years for Assistant Manager

Experience in an insurance or financial services environment (business or public accounting) is a plus

Knowledge of accounting principles, with strong analytical and problem solving skills

Knowledge of life insurance accounting and/or operations a plus

Proficiency in Hyperion-Essbase and knowledge of Sun Account a plus

Ability to lead/manage projects of various sizes

Strong (English) communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work well under tight deadlines and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Detail-oriented, ability to establish appropriate checks on own / others’ work
