Placemark develops, implements, and supports wealth solutions, including Unified Managed Account platforms and retirement solutions for broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, banks, and family offices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Placemark Investments is seeking an in-house attorney with 3-4 years legal experience in investment advisor law and regulation or other in-house experience with a financial services company. Attorney will provide support to Placemark’s General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer. Responsibilities will include review of investment advisory and other contracts, sub-adviser due diligence reviews, contract management and internal audits. Work will be performed independently and in coordination with General Counsel, other Placemark management, and outside counsel. Duties will include legal support for all aspects of business including technology and employment.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
- 3-4 years attorney experience either in investment advisory industry or other in-house experience with a financial services company.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets - including equities, fixed income, separately managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, and hedge funds
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge and use of Microsoft’s Office suite
- Must be an active member in good standing with at least one state bar.
- Priority will be given to candidates with significant experience working directly with financial services operations and technology personnel.
- Excellent legal research with proficiency use Westlaw
- Strong Written and oral communication skills
