This is an entry level position which will support LCD's leveraged loan research group by focusing on LCD's proprietary data entry process. The Asst. Leveraged Loan Analyst will need to develop a comprehensive understanding of LCD's systems and processes, as well as the fundamentals of the loan market, syndication processes and credit profiles.
You will:
- Provide support to the analytical team by creating updating leveraged loan and high yield bond profiles in LCD's proprietary database based upon bank books and prospectuses gathered from the market
- Gather information from market sources such as SEC filings, Ratings Direct, CapitalIQ, and update LCD's related databases and analysis
- Provide support to senior analysts and other group members for other varied data collection processes and analysis
- Develop an understanding LCD's production processes for its research reports and analysis
- Build up knowledge of the basics of the leveraged finance markets including loans and high yield bonds. This includes the mechanics of the markets, syndication processes and documentation
Skills
Required:
- Bachelors' degree, preferably in a related field such as finance or accounting.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with regards to the ability to accurately handle data.
- Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn about financial markets.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Access is a plus.
- Ability to work in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment.
- Team oriented - ability not only to work on a team, but also to take direction from more senior team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
