Our growing Tacoma Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is adding an Assistant Manager position. Enjoy a supportive and collegial partnership with our physicians and other members of the healthcare team. We focus on the highest standard of patient safety combined with state-of-the-art technology.
The Tacoma ASC has 4 main OR suites and 3 MOR's, doing approximately 6,000 cases per year. The Ambulatory Surgery Center includes the OR Admission, Phase 1 and 2 PACU and the Anesthesia Pain Service. The Assistant Manager will have specific responsibility for one or more of these areas and will partner with the manager on the others.
We also have new Assistant Manager positions at our Bellevue and Tacoma locations.
The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Assistant Manager collaborates with the ASC Manager to establish and maintain a patient focused environment that is competent, ethical and safe in order to promote high quality patient care. This position will coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, consulting nurses and other departments to make decisions that meet designated outcomes in service quality, clinical quality, utilization of resources and financial goals. Acting on behalf of the ASC Manager in the supervision of staff and support of overall department administration, is a key aspect of this position.
Specifically, the ASC Assistant Manager will be responsible for the following in partnership with the ASC Manager:
- Assures competency, quality and adequate staffing levels of healthcare providers in the ASC. Develops and maintains processes to meet cost, quality and service goals and provides education in support of these outcomes.
- Recruits, hires, leads, manages and mentors ASC staff including discipline and termination when necessary. Prepares and presents performance evaluations in a supportive environment. Assesses and responds to educational needs of staff.
- Develops, implements and enforces departmental policies and procedures assuring compliance with all Regulatory Agency and Group Health standards. Establishes, develops, implements, and maintains clinical and administrative quality improvement policies, procedures and standards.
- Continuously analyzes and evaluates patient care, environmental control, safety issues, and infection control practices in the ASC. Monitors, tracks and resolves accident/incident reports. Utilizes Lean management tools and process improvement approach.
- Evaluates and supports implementation of new technology and equipment.
Education Requirements:
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
Knowledge/Skills:
Minimum: Advanced communication and proven management skills including problem resolution, team development and process improvement.
Preferred: Advanced knowledge of Regulatory Agency Standards
Experience:
Minimum: Two years of experience as a supervisor, lead or charge RN, preferably in a fast paced outpatient ambulatory surgery setting.
License/Certifications:
Minimum: WA RN license, ACLS and PALS certifications at time of hire
Preferred: CPAN, CAPA, and/or CNOR Certifications
