ASSISTANT MANAGER – INTERNAL AUDIT recruitment
The successful candidate will assist the Internal Audit Manager in evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls within the Company, its service organisations, and will maintain and develop the internal audit framework.
Core Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare the audit monitoring plan, under the guidance of the Internal Audit Manager.
- Design and deliver assurance over the Company’s key service organisations.
- Plan and scope ad-hoc audit and special assignments, under the guidance of the Internal Audit Manager, and deliver assignments to the agreed scope and timescales.
- Discuss and assess the risk attached to audit findings with relevant management, focussing on proportionate and practical solutions that address risk, control weaknesses or drive operational efficiencies.
- Produce internal audit papers and reports for presentation to management, boards and committees.
- Assist with the daily supervision of audit staff and of the review of audit work papers, ensuring conclusions are factual and documentation of work adheres to the internal audit methodology.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing updating and development of internal audit techniques at the Company, including maintenance of in-house procedural notes and systems.
- Liaise with staff and management at all levels in relation to changes to the business environment and the effective maintenance of the framework of internal controls.
- Undertake other miscellaneous internal audit duties, as required.

- Strong verbal skills, with the willingness and ability to liaise and communicate effectively with staff of all levels across the business.
- Strong written skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise written reports that are bespoke and suited to the subject matter and audience.
- Highly motivated and pro-active, track record of being a self-starter and generating and implementing solutions.
- Flexibility, can demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Core Requirements:
- Applicants should be educated to degree level. A recognised accountancy or audit qualification, with at least 2 years post qualification experience, and knowledge of financial services is preferable.
- Strong understanding of audit and risk management practices, with experience of being accountable for delivering audit plans.
