ASSISTANT MANAGER, CORPORATE ACTIONS recruitment
The successful candidate will manage a team of staff within the Corporate Actions area, providing a quality outsourced service at all times, achieving maximum efficiency in the processing of global corporate events. They will ensure that all tasks are completed in line with agreed procedures and deadlines as dictated by various SLA’s in operation. The role holder will contribute towards the team’s continual improvement and monitoring and motivating of staff. They will also provide technical knowledge and expertise in the area of corporate actions as well as maintain industry awareness.
Core Responsibilities:
- Strong management control must be exercised to ensure that controls and procedures are followed at all times to minimise the risk of compliance breaches and financial penalties.
- The job holder will be proactive in interfacing with other functional areas within Investment Administration to ensure that the flow of information and data between Areas is maintained.
- The jobholder will also develop client relationships and interact with many other external parties such as custodians, brokers and fund managers.
- The job holder is responsible for managing a team of staff and for the checking of the work produced by the administrators for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensuring that procedures and standards are adhered to. Any errors found after releasing information to clients must be fully documented and escalated to the Manager immediately.
- The job holder will have limited authority to release instructions to the relevant custodian banks.
- The job holder will deal with client contacts and is responsible for ensuring that all client issues are resolved satisfactorily, within agreed procedures and guidelines.
- Any issues or queries on either compliance or departmental policies should be raised with the Manager.
- The jobholder will manage the Corporate Actions Instructions team within the Asset Services Department and will be responsible for providing services to a growing FS client base.
- Client relationships/Third Party Relationships - Build a good working relationship with clients and third parties such as auditors, custodians and trustees, acting as the first point of contact for any issues.
- Management of Product Delivery/Service Changes - Review and sign off daily corporate actions, processes ensuring all issues logs are monitored and maintained.
- Ensure that a high standard of service is provided to clients and ensure that any service changes including new business are managed efficiently and effectively with minimum disruption for clients. Manage User Acceptance of new or upgraded software as required, under guidance of the relative project or IT team.
- Ensure prompt resolution of all query items, providing clear and concise notes together with documentation to support outstanding items.
- Manage all members in your team, ensuring that the department objectives are achieved, and develop an enthusiastic and motivated team.
- Share knowledge and experience with team.
- Hold team meetings and 1:1 meetings with all direct reports.

Core Requirements:
- Management experience within the industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of Corporate Actions Fund Administration experience.
- Ability to identify and initiate process improvements preferably using Best Process Management techniques.
- Ability to monitor performance against objectives, through the development of MI and taking corrective action.
