Assistant Mining Analyst recruitment

The role of Assistant Mining Analyst requires detailed understanding of geology and the ability to develop financial modelling skills to assist the Senior Resource Analyst. You will assist the Senior Analyst in providing high-quality investment research and recommendations for small to mid cap stocks (of institutional quality), suitable for institutional investors, sophisticated private investors and retail investors alike.

Key attributes:

• A degree in geology is essential

• Direct experience in multiple commodities preferable (ie precious metals and / or base metals and bulks)

• Preferably have started FINSIA and / or other postgraduate coursework such as Masters in Commerce/Finance/Accounting or an MBA would be highly desirable. Candidates who are prepared to undertake further qualifications will also be considered. An additional postgraduate qualification in finance would be favourably viewed

• Willing to travel domestically and internationally (must have a valid passport, have unrestricted work rights and hold a current driver’s licence)

• At least three years’ mine site and / or exploration experience

• Some experience in financial modelling and spreadsheets (or the ability to undertake further training in this area) and well-developed attention to detail

• Demonstrable interest in equity markets and investing.
