Principle Responsibilities and Candidate Requirements
Portfolio Management
- Ensure portfolios are kept in line with the appropriate strategies with the client outcome in mind.
- Manage the initial set up of discretionary portfolios to ensure effective implementation of investment strategy.
- Ensure clients’ income requirements are met; contributions are invested and subscriptions to Individual Savings Accounts are made..
- Ensure monies are available for fee collection.
- Research
- Assist with monitoring portfolio risk/return characteristics; calculating and interpreting return attribution.
- Assist in the selection and monitoring of third party fund managers.
- Undertaking independent macroeconomic research to formulate investment ideas and themes.
Portfolio construction
- Active contribution to asset allocation decisions on a tactical and strategic basis.
- Presenting market updates on an ad hoc basis to the Investment Committee.
- Communications
- Communicate effectively and concisely promoting the Asset Management team in a positive fashion.
- Assist in the writing of weekly, monthly and ad-hoc research pieces including performance updates and market outlooks.
- Build and maintain an excellent relationship with SEI and external fund managers.
Technical Knowledge and Professional Qualifications
- A strong work ethic and an appetite to make a difference in a varied and challenging role
- Keen interest in financial markets
- High level of computer literacy including strong knowledge of Excel and experience of using Bloomberg
- Working towards or willing to work towards further qualifications (Investment Management Certificate)
- Strong written and in person communication abilities
Strong academic track record
