Assistant Product Manager OR Junior Product Manager (White Goods / Consumer Electronics
Location: Watford
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 pa=lus package
An Assistant Product Manager / Junior Product Manager is required to to join a leading White Goods company based in Watford.
Within the role you will provide general support to the Product Manager in both his role of New Product Development and Account Management for OEM Sales. Additionally, you will undertake detailed market and competitor analysis to support product placing and market positioning.
Main Responsibilities
- Project scope may include increasing the quality or lowering the cost of a product that will need liasing with the plant, customer and Quality Managers.
· Support the Line Manager in Product Management issues
· Undertake desk based market research in New Products Area (SDA, TV, Personal Care etc).
Competitor model research, product feature, design and placement analysis.
Market mapping and retail price research (web and store visits).
Field trial projects as required.
- Coordinate with Head Office and Sales Teams to develop the optimum product range. Manage the set-up of the new models with all relevant departments to ensure smooth introduction of the range and discontinue models when they no longer contribute to the aims of the organisation.
· Manage sample flow on the relevant product category both to UK and to the plants.
· Maintain showrooms to ensure product presentation is up to date against core ranges and properly supported with relevant product information.
· Provide internal support for product related issues including customer setup sheets and spec sheets.
· Prepare / support monthly Marketing Presentations Meeting
· Continuiously work and communicate with production plants and central product management to ensure that new product projects are progressing on time. Respond to product queries quickly and efficiently. Progress the natural stages of product development together with plants.
Experience
- Commercial / product marketing experience. One or two years experience in a customer or product focused role. Project Management
- Potential to move to a Product Management role.
Skills
- Good computer skills, especially Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Being thorough and clear in communication
- Being able to work in a product related environment.
- Customer focussed
- Ability work towards deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving skills.
Must be able to travel in and out of country on a quarterly basis.
