Assistant Research Analyst recruitment
BlackRock Alternative Advisors (BAA), BlackRock's multi-manager platform, manages over $23 billion in assets across absolute return, private capital and hybrid strategies for a broadly diversified global client base. BAA emphasizes a consistent and long-standing application of investment philosophy and process. The BAA platform includes investment teams located in Seattle, New York, Princeton, Durham and London.
The BAA Research team is seeking an Assistant Research Analyst tasked with extracting and managing information obtained from BAA's base of invested hedge fund managers as well as capital markets research.
Responsibilities
- Active involvement in the collection, synthesis and dissemination of information gathered through the Research team's interactions with external Hedge Fund managers.
- Maintaining and ensuring all relevant Hedge Fund data is captured in a proprietary database on a consistent basis. This includes extracting information from relevant legal documents, marketing materials and meeting notes.
- Assisting in aggregating and analyzing data on specific Hedge Fund strategies and peer universes.
- Preparing content for internal and external due diligence summaries and commentary on invested Hedge Funds.
- Working with Research Analysts in extracting information for use in capital markets research.
Skills and Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree
- Natural curiosity and interest in capital markets combined with strong writing skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas and processes
- High attention to detail
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skill using proprietary technology.
- Desire to complete the CFA program.
