Assistant Store Manager (Fashion Retail)

Position: Assistant Store Manager
Location: Birmingham

ROLE:
You will report to the Store Manager and work alongside your team in delivering a knowledgeable, unique and positive experience for their customers resulting in a store with strong sales growth and profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Ensure that all monthly targets set by the Store Manager are reached and exceeded.
b) Assist with creating a strong team environment in store.
c) When required, assist with recruiting and development of the team.
d) Understand all current and future company products and assist with educating retail team on product knowledge.
e) Assist with ordering products, stock control and responsibility for the delivery of all goods, following up with any discrepancies.
f) Carry out month and year-end retail stock takes, following strict stock control guidelines.
g) Responsible for daily banking procedures and assisting with cashing up at the end of the shift, where necessary.
h) Maintaining visual standards set by the company.
i) Ensure the customers has a positive experience whilst in the store.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience as an Assistant Store Manager or similar.
b) Knowledge of branded fashion / sportswear.
c) Team management experience.
d) Ability to drive performance through KPIs.
e) Knowledge of Retail IT systems.
f) Good Merchandising skills.
g) Fluent English (spoken and written) is essential.
h) Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic.
i) Able to make timely decisions, anticipate problems, identify areas of opportunity, and provide creative, logical and efficient solutions.
j) Available to work flexible hours (including weekends).
