Assistant Store Manager, Home Appliances-Pearlridge HI

This position is responsible for managing the entire Home Appliance department and store associates. This includes, but is not limited to, selecting, scheduling, supervising, directing, coaching, counseling, disciplining, training and performance management of associates; sales volume, key driver and profitability analyses and performance; identification and solution of business problems; creation and implementation of competitive strategies; managing productivity standards; and overall store management responsibilities. Scope of Responsibility: This position is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Home Appliance department, store associates, as well as storewide management responsibilities and other projects as assigned. The Assistant Store Manager, Home Appliances is expected to spend well over 50% of his/her time on management duties on a daily and weekly basis. Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform essential functions: Education/Training Four-year college degree preferred. Prior management training required. Prior HR specific training or equivalent training related to hiring, training, and disciplining employees preferred. Experience Prior management experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail stores required. Prior experience managing business operations in retail setting required. Prior HR experience or equivalent experience hiring, training, and disciplining employees preferred. Role specific abilities/skills Ability to lead and develop a team. Strong financial literacy. Strong analytical skills. Ability to conduct and lead meetings and presentations. Strong organizational and management skills. Ability to manage employee performance, including, but not limited to, documenting performance issues, creating and managing performance plans with specific goals for improvement, counseling where necessary, and making decisions with respect to next disciplinary (including termination) or promotion steps. Ability to identify and solve complex issues affecting department and/or overall store performance.
