Description of Duties:
- Oversees all areas of store operations and is responsible for the attainment of stated store goals and objectives in partnership with the General Manager and other Assistant Managers
- Drives store execution and performance while ensuring brand consistency and store presentation
- Oversees day-to-day planning and operational accountability for sales and customer service
- Leads team by taking initiative, leading by example, and enthusiastically adapting change
- Clearly communicates all expectations to team and holds team accountable for expectations
- Coaches, trains, and motivates staff to reach performance goals
- Actively participates in interviewing, selecting, and training new hires
- Monitors and evaluates performance, provides timely feedback (for recognition, disciplinary action, developmental conversations, and performance review process)
- Provides consistent leadership, a positive attitude, and maintains attention to detail
- Influences behavior and mages the values and attitudes of staff
- Clear understanding of company vision and store objectives as to communicate them effectively to staff
- Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to multitask
- Interacts with subordinates, peers and/or managers in other work groups/team/vendors
- Teaches, trains and interprets data and resolves semi-routine issues
- Assists in setting and leads execution of short-term objectives for assigned work group/team
May also perform specialized duties within functional areas:
Operations:
- Ensures adherence to opening and closing procedures, inventory cycle counts, inventory control procedures, and other operational guidelines
- Forecasts staffing needs and schedules personnel
- Identifies opportunities and takes action to improve customer service, drive store sales, increase profitability, and streamline operations
Sales/Training:
- Plans and executes new product launches, events, contests, and/or promotions
- Identifies and addresses training opportunities and staff development
Merchandising/Events:
- Ensures brand appropriate product presentation and store appearance
- Identifies and coordinates opportunities to increase customer interactions, drive store traffic, and create sales
Summary of Requirements:
- Four to six years of related experience, including at least two years as assistant manager
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent computer skills
- Enthusiasm towards and willingness to learn about gaming
- Ability to work open, flexible schedules (including early mornings and occasional overnights)
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent
