Position:                                   Assistant Treasurer

Reports To:                              CFO

 

Summary: The Assistant Treasurer reports directly to the CFO / Treasurer and is responsible for the daily monitoring and management of the investment portfolio, and assists in the direction of interest rate risk management, funds management and the Bank’s budgeting process. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

·         Participate in the Asset/Liability Committee

o        Ensure quarterly interest rate scenarios are performed and properly documented

o        Recommend and implement interest rate risk management strategies from ALCO

·         Assist in the coordination and evaluation of the financial budgeting process and prepare and maintain budget to actual reporting continuously throughout the year

·         Responsible for monitoring liquidity management by providing cash flow calculations

·         Responsible for all correspondent banking relationships.  Ensure compliance with Regulation F

·         Maintain a contingency funding plan and associated borrowing sources for the Bank

·         Write and maintain all policy documents and manuals required for the Treasury Function

·         Responsible for the management of the Bank’s investment portfolio

·    Maintain up-to-date Investment Policy, monitoring the investment portfolio for compliance and proper accounting.

 

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.  CPA is preferred.  A minimum of 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience is required. Experience within a financial institution and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience are also required. 

 

Computer Skills

The incumbent must be proficient with Word, Excel and spreadsheets.

 

Other Skills/Knowledge

Must have excellent organizational and communication skills and a high level of analytical skills. 

 

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of complex instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  He/she must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.

 

Salary Range:  Commensurate with experience.
