Assistant Vice President – Global Trade Finance recruitment
SMBC is a leading Global Bank with a strong presence in Trade Finance. A newly created opportunity now exists in our Sydney Branch for a Trade Finance professional to join our operation as we continue to develop our Australian New Zealand trade finance business. You will report directly to the Head of Global Trade Finance Australia New Zealand.
The role will require you to:
- Assist in the portfolio management of clients.
- Manage daily transactional and collateral management for clients.
- Assist with the structuring and preparation of credit papers and facility documentation.
- Explore and provide trade finance ideas and solutions for clients in order to maximise business and cross selling opportunities;
- Work with the corporate banking and structured finance teams to develop and maintain Trade Finance relationships with clients of SMBC.
Required Background and Skills:
- 5-7 years relevant trade finance experience;
- Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field;
- Well developed knowledge of banking system and processes;
- Sound technical knowledge and experience in Trade Finance products;
- Knowledge of credit and operational risk attaching to Trade Finance Transactions;
- Demonstrated to market / or manage portfolio of Trade Finance products and clients;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate clearly.
This role is ideal for a Trade Finance professional who is looking to further their experience and work in a smaller team environment within a large and well regarded Global trade operation. The role will provide a level of autonomy in undertaking some marketing and portfolio management whilst also assisting with risk management, credit applications and other administrative processes.
