Group Finance is responsible for the production of relevant, timely and accurate statutory, financial and management information; as well as insightful analysis of business, product and customer profitability to support decision making and generation of shareholder value. The team also provides capital management, business planning, forecasting, tax and accounting advisory services to our businesses.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the day-to-day management of the projects from initial kick-off through to closure
- Develop, execute and manage the project plan
- Define deliverables and project milestones
- Obtain commitment from stakeholders on project plan and subsequent revisions
- Provide timely update and status reports on progress of projects to all key stakeholders
- Perform risk assessment/identification throughout the project life cycle
- End-to-end management of projects from project initiation (syndication/socialization, business case, stakeholders mapping etc) to preparation stage (communication plan, setup team, scope definition etc) to execution phase (status update, tracking and implementation) and to project closure phrase (lesson learnt, quality assurance review)
- Proactively manage the project team (which includes subject-matter-experts) to identify problem statement, to define scope manage scope changes, develop project plan / timeline / milestones, identify / ring-fence / mitigate risk issues to ensure timely and quality delivery to target
- Provide regular progress/status reports scorecards to program managers, program project steering committees, program sponsors, interested party groups and to the larger DBS community
Requirements
- Degree with academic concentrations in finance
- At least 6 years of work experience in the Finance function of banks, creative with strong problem and project management skills
- Strong understanding of banking terminology, products and Finance processes
- Working knowledge of Singapore Accounting Standards and IFRS and strong knowledge of the various Finance functions – Financial reporting, product control, GL management etc
- Knowledge of project management framework / skills
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task and take on different types of roles and activities at the same time
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Good general management and people skills
- Control-minded and customer-focused with a ‘can-do’ attitude / mindset
- Candidates should also have managed and driven executions of finance system projects in his/her function
- Candidates who have led integration initiatives will have an advantage
- Candidates who are experienced project managers supporting Finance initiatives will be considered as well
