Assistant Vice President, Internal Audit (Consumer Banking Group), Group Audit recruitment

Our internal Group Audit team is an independent, objective assurance and consulting function designed to add value to and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute audit plan
- Manage audit engagements assigned by the Regional Audit Specialist and VP of the team
- Execute and complete all audits in accordance with departmental and IIA standards
- Support VP in the updating and maintenance of the audit strategy and plan
- Relationship management
- Maintain key relationships with line management of the business and support units (BU/SU)
- Contribute to Group Audit’s role as a Trusted Advisor to the BU/SU in control matters
- Contribute in subject areas
- Actively advise and promptly apprise the Regional Audit Specialist and VP of the team of all major risk, control and regulatory issues arising during the audit and through regular contact with line management
- Ascertain that major concerns and recommendations raised by internal and external auditors, and regulators are resolved satisfactorily
- Support VPs in reviewing new products/services initiatives
- Support staff and self-development
- Keep abreast of own professional development to enhance one’s skills and competence
- Coach and guide junior staff on all audit engagements
Requirements
- 5 to 10 yrs of Professional auditing, accounting or university graduate with relevant experience and core competence
- General understanding of overall banking business
- Strong product knowledge in consumer banking business
- Good communication skills - spoken and written
- Good project management and organisation skill
- Ability to establish effective relationships with line managers
- Other post graduate qualifications or professional memberships would be considered favourably (CIA, CISA, CPA, CFA, CFSA, MBA specialising in General Management, Finance, Accounting or Banking/Financial Industry related)
