Assistant Vice President of Operations
Under the direction of the COO and Managing Directors, the Assistant Vice President of Operations assists in management of operations and implementation of policies, procedures and work direction. The ideal candidate will have the ability to set performance goals, manage staff level employees and managers, provide direction for the department and have the knowledge to oversee branch level responsibilities.
Key Duties Responsibilities:
- Create and execute systems for performance measurement and evaluation, including goal setting, coaching and training, and regular development meetings.
- Cultivate high performance of teams through cyclical periods of workload volume by ensuring established productivity and quality levels are consistently met.
- Effectively manage continual change and ensure teams are following policies and procedures as mandated by strict industry regulations.
- Communicate team performance and project status with global management team as well as relevant local managers across various departments.
- Manage initiatives that will positively impact the department goals, including process enhancements and automation.
- Identify and bring in new talent through successful interviewing.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- Proven management and supervision experience
- Ability to empower, develop and motivate management and staff level employees
- Experience managing, developing and overseeing departmental performance measurements
- Resourceful and self reliant in identifying and solving problems; capable of making decisions
- Customer oriented with the ability to streamline processes and procedures
- Experience reporting to and working with executive level management
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced business environment
- Adapt to a continually changing environment and effectively manage such change within all teams
- High level of commitment and work ethic
- Experience working in multinational firms
- Good to fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin is a must
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years management experience (Assistant Manager, Team Leader, AVP or higher)
- BA/BS degree or higher in a related field, preferably Finance, Business Management or Business Administration
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Operations within the financial services industry and/or forex industry (preferred)
