Assistant Vice President, OTC FIC Specialist
Job Responsibilities:
As part of its corporate strategy, HKEx is expanding its FIC initiatives with the launch of the OTC Clear business, recognizing global regulatory development and mandates. This position is being created to deliver new products and services in FIC derivatives to meet the anticipated market opportunities. The OTC FIC Specialist is a high profile position which enables and requires the candidate to be innovative in designing new solutions for the market.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Identify and execute on opportunities to list derivatives contracts by initiating and conducting regular review of OTC Clear product portfolio and working with PID FIC Product Specialist, Derivatives Trading and Clearing teams
- Engage FIC trading desks Heads of Trading and prime brokers to identify product opportunities in the OTC and listed derivatives space
- Work with OTC Clear Team to identify FIC product development opportunities and support OTC Clear membership expansion to support the onboarding of new OTC Clear members
- Support OTC Clear initiatives in developing and maintaining client pitchbooks and marketing content materials
- Build relationships and business intelligence of OTC market end users (particularly buy side firms such as hedge funds and insurance companies) through one-on-one meetings, industry gatherings and events to support the development of new products
- Develop HKEx marketing strategy to reach OTC users and work with Product Marketing Specialist to execute, monitor and deliver campaigns
- Manage collaborations to deliver OTC product initiatives with key internal partners in Global Markets and Global Clearing as well as external partners comprising market participants, users and regulatory organizations
Requirements:
- Over 10 years of experience with Asia FIC Product Management or Asia FIC Product Structuring including onshore and offshore RMB Market exposure:
- Substantial experience in FIC business is required. In particular, candidate is required to be familiar with end client clearing model and business needs - hedge funds, insurance companies and other buy side firms
- Ideal candidate will have experience in delivering or managing OTC client clearing business at major bank
- Experience in developing and executing successful business strategies in product development
- Understanding of HKEx Group business including customers, competitive landscape, industry issues and drivers of change
- Familiarity with OTC trade life cycle from execution to clearing, particularly industry conventions for trade negotiation and trade clearing
- Experience leading project teams in a matrix environment
- Spoken and written fluency in Mandarin and English is required. Cantonese proficiency would be an asset
- Bachelor's degree required with Masters degree or MBA preferred
