Assistant Vice President / Senior Manager – Platform Development & Strategy (Next Generation Systems Programme Management) recruitment

With the ambitious goal of bringing HKEx’s platforms to a new level, HKEx is looking for talent to join its team to develop the next generation of IT platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work in the Platform Development Department to provide overall programme management of the Exchange’s next generation IT initiative. Close working relations are required with project managers, business sponsors and IT teams. Key activities include:
- Establishing plans for new initiatives
- Integrating plans produced by constituent projects within the programme
- Identifying and managing risks and dependencies between projects
- Consolidated tracking and reporting
- Analysis of customer impact
- Organizing and running competitive tenders and solution evaluations
- Contract negotiation
Requirements:
- University degree, preferably in IT and/or Finance related subject
- Over 10 years’ relevant experience in finance related technology in a consultancy firm, technology provider or financial institution (exchange preferred) with a proven track record in complex, large scale project management, preferably adopting recognized methodologies
- Experience of tender management and evaluation as well as vendor management
- Sound knowledge of financial markets (preferably covering cash and derivatives)
- Ability to engage with business users to understand requirements
- Strong managerial, analytical, planning, communication and presentations skills
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Candidates with lesser experience and qualification will be considered for a lower level
