Job Description
Essential Education:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2003 or better
- ITIL Training or Foundations Certification is preferred
Essential Experience/Technical Knowledge:
- Minimum 4 years of System Administrator experience supporting Production, Development QA systems within an enterprise environment
- Strong analytical, debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Show initiative and enthusiasm for continues services improvement.
- Strong interpersonal, communications, organizational and time management skills
- Thorough knowledge of Operating systems (Microsoft Windows Server) and related technologies - DNS, DFS, TCP/IP, IIS, WINS, Active Directory, group policy, FTP, SMTP, clustering, terminal services, Windbg, netmon, administration pack, support tools, resource kit tools.
- Virtualization / thin client - Citrix XenServer / PS / Xenapps, VMWare VI3, Vsphere
- Hardware - IBM, HP, iLO/Rilo, IMM, blade technologies
Preferred Experience
- Scripting - perl, vb, DOS
- Performance Management - Teamquest, perfmon
- Event Management - NetIQ, HPSIM, IBM Director, Tivoli ITM, Tivoli Endpoint
- Patch Management - Bigfix, Tivoli
- Backup Management - Legato Networker, Veritas Netbackup, BackupExec
- Job scheduling - Windows at, Autosys
- Security Management - Symantec ESM, Mcafee/epo, Quest Intrust
- Web Technologies - IIS 5 / 6, Weblogic
Experience with Unix shell and or scripting under Redhat Linux, Solaris or AIX operating systems would be beneficial for this role. Knowledge of Unix functionality and hardware would also be beneficial.
