Job Description We are looking to recruit a grade 3 Principal Engineer to work with the Transmission and Distribution team of the Energy business line. The successful candidate will be based in the Edinburgh office. Job responsibilities: Candidates should be able to offer competency in a selection of the responsibilities listed below; - HV Network consulting and design from 11kV to 400kV. - Protection Studies - Transient Analysis - Fault levels - Harmonics and Compensation Systems. - Grid Connections. - Earthing studies - Power system analysis software - Working with specialist sub consultants to support the key responsibilities. - Switchgear, transformer, generator, cabling and overhead line specifications. - Supervise structural designs for towers. - Supervise staff engaged in related HV works - Develop relationships with clients - Develop business opportunities - Liaise with Global AECOM Colleagues Candidate requirements: - Experience working for either a grid operator, equipment manufacturer, or consultant - Good knowledge of the UK grid system and the market place - Established network in the UK grid sector. - Recognised as having strong technical skills. - Client facing - Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone - Ability to work in a pressurized engineering and project environment - operating to tight timescales - Excellent organizational and time management skills, you will be required to co-ordinate multiple projects within a large global network of offices - Working knowledge of relevant power system software packages. - Fluent in English spoken and written - European language would be beneficial
