ASSOCIATE – OPERATIONS, TRADE MANAGEMENT recruitment

SUMMARY:

Trade Management is responsible for the movement and settlement of all of HMC’s cash, equity and fixed income requirements and for the monitoring of multiple bank accounts held across a network of global custodian banks and Prime Brokers which settle and safe-keep the assets. The Associate will be responsible for learning the responsibilities associated with all aspects of funding and instructing the various asset classes and the successful candidate for this position will demonstrate an ability to adapt and provide flexibility to cover all aspects of the trade management team.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Confirm, instruct and ensure settlement of security, cash and foreign exchange transactions

• Coordinate daily cash requirements for a number of accounts throughout the day based on all available information to determine cash availability

• Process electronic OTC confirmations

• Responsible for review of all foreign currency balances to ensure that all trading activity is funded

• Monitor daily wire activity including review of all settlements at custodians and prime brokers, track non-receipts, track and resolve overdrafts and booking issues; work with appropriate departments when necessary to resolve issues

• Prepare and update management reports on key performance indicators as necessary

• Liase with accounting, trading and recon departments to ensure exceptions are identified and resolved

• Maintain and update department’s procedures

• Assist with other Operational responsibilities as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Detail oriented, well organized and an ability to work under pressure and meet strict time deadlines

• Sound understanding of capital markets with at least 2 years experience in the finance industry

• Familiarity with settlement of fixed income, equity and derivative products

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and an ability to interact with various levels in differing departments both internal and external

• Ability to challenge existing processes and offer solutions to improve where appropriate

• Willing to work overtime when necessary

• B.S. in business preferred
