Associate Analyst – Central and Eastern Europe Banking recruitment
The Role:
The associate will work closely with Senior Analysts and have the opportunity to attend meetings with issuers and contribute to rating committees. The key function of the role is to provide analytical, statistical and research assistance to Analysts in the banking team.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibility of an associate is to provide analytical, statistical, administrative and research assistance to analysts in the Financial Institution Group.
The associate will work closely with analysts and have the opportunity to attend meetings with issuers and contribute to rating committees, the tasks can broadly be defined as below;
- Support analysts in the rating process, including drafting internal credit documents, preparing ratio analysis, preparing spreadsheets, comparative statistics, graphs, tables, and working on special projects as needed
- Review financial statements and perform credit analysis on a bank and/or sector basis
- Review bond and loan documentation
- Support system and special project research writing
- Preparation of outreach presentational material relating to banks and/or systems
- Attend analytical meetings and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up
- Ensure administrative tasks are done
Experience:
- Solid understanding of financial statements
- Financial/statistical research capabilities
- Strong quantitative aptitude
- Well developed IT skills including advance Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven analytical skills, will be an advantage
- Good understanding of European and/or country specific financial institutions regulatory environment, will be an advantage
- Proven financial institutions credit analysis experience or related experience, will be an advantage
- International work or study experience an advantage
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background with MSc Finance or Banking (or equivalent)
- Relevant professional qualification (eg CFA and or CIMA/ACCA) will be an advantage.

- Good communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing
- Able to work to tight deadlines and manage own workflow/priorities accordingly
- Ambitious and highly motivated
- Desire to exceed internal (analysts) and external (issuers) expectations
- Able to work using own initiative and without close supervision
- Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in Czech, Hungarian or another Easter European language would be advantageous
- Willingness to travel across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region when necessary
