Associate Analyst, Sovereign Research recruitment
Responsibilities
- Undertake timely and incisive sovereign risk research and economic analysis
- Prepare economic and financial spreadsheets, tables and graphs of quantitative information related to country analysis and regional trends
- Assist the Director of Sovereign Research and staff in drafting and editing timely research
- Support the Director of Sovereign Research and staff in preparing presentation materials (e.g., using PowerPoint)
- Participate in internal credit discussions and meetings with external parties including government officials and investors
- Assist the Director of Sovereign Research and staff with ad hoc projects
- Adhere to all applicable regulatory, code of conduct and best practice requirements and standards
Qualifications
- Strong academic background, preferably in Economics, however Finance or International Business also may be acceptable; graduate degree or equivalent preferred
Languages
- English essential, other European languages desirable.
Experience
- Economic or relevant credit research experience desirable. Experience in the financial sector, government or consulting would be an advantage
- Sound knowledge of macroeconomics and application of economic theory to real world events
- Previous work experience with editing desirable
- Experience with producing and publishing both regular and ad-hoc research pieces, sometimes to tight deadlines
Key Tech and Non-Tech Skills
- Strong MS Office skills: principally Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
- Ability to be proactive and exercise own initiative
- Ability to work effectively both independently with supervision and as part of a diverse team
