Role Overview

The EBRD Agribusiness team has more than 15 years of experience in over 300 transactions across our 30 countries of operation, which range from central Europe to central Asia. We seek an Associate Banker with the experience, capability and enthusiasm to become part of our growing success story in the countries of operation.

The Associate Banker will support transaction-related processes (project appraisals, negotiations, due diligence, legal documentation) under regular supervision of more senior bankers. This will be accomplished through marketing, project screening, origination, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation, and monitoring of projects. The role can progress to more complex aspects of transaction processing, progressively gaining more responsibilities including directly liaising with clients and contribute to the structuring of transactions.

This is a regular position based in London HQ; reassignment to a field location at a later stage is a possibility. The role will report into Director, Agribusiness in London.

Key Responsibilities Deliverables

- With support and supervision from senior Agribusiness bankers, the Associate Banker will be responsible for development and structuring of investment transactions, including project appraisal, negotiations, due diligence and legal documentation in the Agribusiness sector.

- Primary responsibility will be in originating, developing and/or evaluating various business models and their associated set of financial statements, including financial projections and cash-flow statements, for emerging business concepts.

- Secondary responsibilities will include overseeing of data gathering, structuring and monitoring of loan covenants, production of reports required during the project cycle, liaison with the Bank's internal Credit department, and other support units.

- The Banker will also be expected to assist with the collection and analysis of project information through research, due diligence and independent inquiry and to participate in the monitoring of existing investments, including preparation of regular monitoring reports based on meetings with clients, site visits, financial review and other research.

Essential Skills, Experience Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years of investment banking/project finance experience, from a major international financial institution where he/she must have acquired high level banking/transaction skills and demonstrable expertise in structuring operations.

- Good relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education. - Credit analysis skills: ability to interpret accounts, understanding accounting principles and practice of credit analysis. - Financial analysis skills: ability to design financial models; identify, understand and help solve complex issues; good knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS accounting.

- Experience of the Agribusiness sector and previous exposure to accounting systems would be desirable.

- Computer literacy with excellent Excel skills.

- Prior experience of the Bank's countries of operation or North Africa the Middle East region would be an advantage.

- Fluent written and spoken English is essential.

- Fluency in Arabic and French language is highly desirable.
