Role Overview
Associate Banker - Almaty Resident Office, Kazakhstan
The successful candidate will play a leading role in originating, structuring and closing transactions in Kazakhstan, using the full range of financing structures and instruments available to the Bank. The responsibilities will also include monitoring and managing the Bank's existing portfolio of loans and investments in these sectors.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Providing administrative and analytical support for monitoring of existing Bank investments, particularly in the financial sector; monitoring project implementation and operation, loan administration; preparing monitoring reports based on meetings with clients, site visits, financial review, etc.
- Support senior bankers in preparing strategies and monitoring portfolios, credit and financial aspects of loan and equity investments, including performing financial analysis of banks, non-bank financial institutions and other companies, preparing of financial projections, and financial modelling;
- Participating as part of the team in project implementation, including administrative and analytical support in specific areas of project monitoring;
- Research and analysis of background information for different banks or sectors;
- Attending meetings with clients together with more senior bankers;
- Drafting of specific assigned portions of Bank documents and correspondence;
- Providing administrative support to more senior bankers including oral and written translations, prepare agendas and arrange meetings and such other support as may be required.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of4 years of relevant experience from a leading investment / commercial bank, international financial institution, donor agency, major consulting firm.
- University degree in banking, business administration, economics, finance, or other relevant disciplines;
- Credit analysis skills including ability to interpret company accounts, understanding accounting principles and practice of credit analysis.
- Proven analytical skills; strong numerical and financial skills with ability to design financial models;
- Computer literacy: Conversant with Microsoft Office, including spreadsheet packages and financial analysis models.
Very good written and oral communication skills in English and Russian; Kazakh desirable.
