Associate Brand Manager

Central Garden Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn and garden supplies markets, is seeking an Associate Brand Manager – Pet Nutrition to join our Pet Segment located in Walnut Creek, CA.

 

The Assistant Brand Manager will help develop and execute all short and long-term business strategies, marketing programs, and innovation for the AvoDerm and Pinnacle pet food brands to deliver on key brand volume, sales, profit and growth objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Help develop short and long-term business and marketing strategies and plans.

·         Help develop all marketing programs and associated volume/spending projections.

·         Lead execution of marketing programs, course correcting as necessary, and optimizing per ROI assessments.

·         Lead cross-functional teams for new item introductions, packaging changes, and various other brand initiatives.

·         Work closely with Research and RD to identify consumer insights, which drive product and program development.

·         Work closely with Customer Marketing to translate brand strategies and plans to trade plans.

·         In conjunction with the Sr. Brand Manager, manage agencies in creation of brand communication and media plans to consumers.

·         Offers recommendations and creative solutions to project obstacles

·         Analyze brand and program results and competitive performance. Draw conclusions and make recommendations to ensure the brands deliver sales and profit targets.

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

 

·         College degree (BA/BS) required; MBA preferred

·         1-2 years Consumer Packaged Goods brand management experience

·         Strong knowledge/ability to interpret Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Panel Data, AUs)

·         Ability and confidence to interact with Senior Management in formal presentations

·         Understanding of the Pet Specialty channel is a plus.

·         Understanding of CPG brand marketing.

·         Strong project management skills. Strong analytical skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

·         Based in Walnut Creek, CA.
