Associate Consultant – Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) recruitment

Postion Summary 

We are currently looking to hire an Associate Consultant in our Energy Trading and Risk Management(ETRM) practice. The successful candidate will work under senior partners to deliver risk technology focused projects for our energy trading clients. The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years of client facing experience in derivatives capital markets, excellent knowledge of oil and/or other commodity derivatives and substantial experience with trading platform Murex. We would consider candidates without Murex experience if they have substantial experience in OpenLink, Sungard Aligne or similar platforms. Candidates without prior commodities trading exposure will be considered if they have demonstrated technical strength in Murex and business expertise in other asset classes (rates, fx, credit etc). 

Our ETRM practice offers advanced training in complex energy trading subjects and Murex platform. Business Competencies 

• Educated in a numerate discipline with 3-5 years of derivatives capital markets experience.

• Thorough understanding of derivatives trading and risk management fundamentals (principles of valuation, hedging, and position management, risk management tools, reporting requirements, control and compliance functions).

• Knowledge of oil, gas, power, metals, and other commodity derivatives contracts and cradle-to-death product life-cycle.

• Substantial experience with at least one major commodities trading platform such as - Murex, Sungard Aligne, or OpenLink.

• Solid technical foundation with exposure to one or more programming and query languages.

• Good overall understanding of capital markets technology, software development life-cycle, quality assurance and release management best practices.

• Self-disciplined and being able to work under minimum supervision in client sites.

• Demonstrate a consultative approach, able to communicate engagingly with clients across diverse business segments – traders, risk managers, trade control, technology, and back-office.
