EMC Infrastructure Consulting Associate Consultant Job Description Summary EMC Associate Consultant is the entry level position of the EMC Infrastructure Consulting organization. The EMC Infrastructure Consulting organization performs information technology consulting engagements in the areas of data center migration, virtualization and consolidation, information management, IT process and procedure (ITIL), networks, and business continuance / disaster recovery. Associate Consultants learn, master, and perform elements of EMC?s consulting methodology under the direction of project Team Leads and Managers. These elements are: Project Management Skills · Understand and meet the project delivery schedule for tasks assigned. · Strong organizational skills and be able to timeshare across multiple tasks · Document and communicate task progress and status to the project lead. · Ability to anticipate and recognize potential project schedule and delivery issues and take appropriate action to remedy the issues. · A self-starter, takes initiative, has the ability to deliver upon assigned tasks with limited guidance from senior team members Project Delivery Skills · Take effective notes when in customer and non customer meetings. · Understand and follow the project governance and communication plan · Understand task completion criteria and obtain peer review when possible for each assigned task prior to delivery. · Attention to detail · Be able to develop and articulate process flow charts and procedure documents · Be able to effectively utilize delivery toolkits and project document templates · Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. · Recognize when escalation to a senior project member is required Technical Skills · Strong analytical and problem solving skills; a ability to analyze and break problems down logically and independently to formulate several solutions options · Working knowledge of computer room technology and operations · Basic knowledge of server operating systems, networks, and information handling · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Interpersonal Skills, Teamwork, and General Requirements · Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to produce high quality outputs · Effectively communicate about assigned project tasks when called upon to do so at project meetings and presentations · ability to effectively create and deliver basic presentations on project related subjects · Team player, ability to effectively work in a team environment to complete project tasks · Present yourself in a professional manner · Comply with all EMC guidelines for workplace conduct. · Ability to travel 100%
