We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate, Derivatives Ops.
In this role, you will
- To assist in the day to day running of the Interest Rate Derivatives Operations within Global Markets Operations.
- To provide support around a subset of processing functions including trade validation, documentation, reconciliation, clearing and settlement.
- Facilitating the global change management agenda and encouraging process improvement are also key to this role.
- To focus on operational efficiency and accuracy, client services, and sound risk management framework to ensure maximum contributions to the profitability of HSBC Global Markets business.
- Minimize operational risks which stem from meager management on daily operations
- Drive for strategic and tactical IT solutions through the global change agenda
- Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements – prompt detection of breaks in reconciliation
- Support and facilitate regional site roll outs and process improvements
- Support Global Service Centre (GSC) locations
- Facilitate Business as Usual (BAU) onshore process around Trade Capture, Documentation and Settlement.
- Provide globally consistent reporting for the management team.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- In depth knowledge of Over the Counter (OTC) Derivatives products and operations processes and good understanding of operational risk
- Sound understanding of the whole product life cycle
- Possess strong numeracy skills and a high level of attention to details and accuracy
- Be highly motivated, a self-starter, with strong communication and relationship building skills
- Strong problem solving skills and capability to adapt to changes
- Team player
- A “can do” attitude and the ability to challenge people and processes
- Have Internation Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) experience, Interest Rate Derivatives knowledge is desirable.
- Cantonese fluency / Mandarin preferred / English fluency
